My love for dogs began when I was a little girl holding my first puppy—and it has remained a meaningful part of my life ever since. The two photos on this page tell that story: from the little girl who adored her puppy to the woman I am today, still happiest with dogs by my side.

I’m Dawn Lee, the owner and groomer behind Four Paws Spa and Salons. I created my business to provide thoughtful, personalized grooming in a calm and caring environment where every dog is treated with patience, kindness, and respect.

I understand that grooming can feel overwhelming for some dogs, especially puppies, seniors, rescues, and pets who are anxious or sensitive to handling. That is why I take a comfort-first approach and work at the pace each dog can safely tolerate.

At my private San Leandro home studio, appointments are scheduled one dog at a time. There are no cages, crowded waiting areas, or multiple dogs being groomed at once. This allows me to give your dog my full attention and create a quieter, more relaxed experience.

I also provide grooming services at Camp Bow Wow in San Ramon, giving families two convenient options for their pets.

I completed my professional grooming education through Paragon Pet Grooming School and am an AKC S.A.F.E. Salon–certified groomer. My training includes safe handling, coat and skin care, breed-appropriate grooming, bathing, brushing, de-shedding, nail care, and haircutting techniques.

I continue learning because every dog is different. Coat type, age, health, temperament, past experiences, and comfort level all influence how a grooming appointment should be approached.

My philosophy is simple: humanity before vanity.

Your dog’s physical and emotional well-being will always come before achieving a particular hairstyle. If a coat is severely tangled or matted, I will recommend the safest and most comfortable option rather than putting a dog through painful brushing or unnecessary stress.

I communicate honestly with pet parents about coat condition, skin or ear concerns, and anything else I notice during the appointment. My goal is to work in partnership with you and help your dog look good, feel comfortable, and develop a more positive relationship with grooming.
